About the Artist:

Brandon Stieg is a Marin County, CA based sculptor and painter whose love of the natural world and industrial relics of the past influence his creations. From a young age, he was fascinated by ideas of adventure and the imaginary worlds he could create in his drawings. His father's workshop doubled as a creative space where he would assemble new creations of found objects.

His metal work is hand forged, formed and fabricated in steel, copper, brass and bronze. Due to the level of detail and finish he is able to achieve in these mediums, his work is often mistaken for bronze castings. Given the level of detail, finish and meticulous craftsmanship, Stieg’s work is recognized around the world among metal metal artists and collectors alike.

His large format paintings are recognized by collectors as unique and powerful in their emotional expression and story. Much of his recent work in his “Child Series” tells the story of a young child navigating the grand exterior world and the internal struggles we all encounter as humans searching for our own unique calling in this world.

Brandon currently resides in Northern California with his wife Sara and their three children.

 Artist Statement:

The primary goal of every piece I create is to tell a story and stir the seas of curiosity for the viewer experiencing the piece. All of my series share this theme.

In this way, my work is meant to be an emotional journey and I purposely aim to create an energy within each painting or sculpture that impacts the viewer and inspires reflection.
