ABOUT OCEAN ARTIST: KEVIN MIRSKY
As a child in the late 1970’s, Kevin spent several years living aboard a small sailboat in the Sausalito yacht harbor with his mother and stepfather. He began surfing in Marin and San Francisco back when, “everyone still knew everyone” and has maintained a strong relationship with surfing and the sea, ever since.
Today, in his 50’s, Kevin is a family man who works a “normal, corporate job” by day. In his free time, Kevin uses his sketches and as he puts it, his “drawings and pelagic meanderings” to feed his own creative spirit.
Kevin’s work is stripped down, raw and honest. It reflects his humbleness and wit. While at times playful and charming, there is a very intentional, wry, somewhat somber tone and a certain level of seriousness in his art.
To date, Kevin has worked with Neve & Hawk, Proof Lab, The Great Highway Gallery, and Sawyer Land and Sea Supply Co., where he recently had a show with iconic body surfer and artist, Mark Cunningham. His latest colab is currently underway with OCN Culture.
